Taryn Smiley paced the Bears at the John Gartland Invitational with two first place event finishes. In the 60-meter Smiley ran a 7.58 race, which was a season best and the top mark in the MVC this weekend, and second best on the season. In the 200-meter Smiley recorded a career best 24.96 time, which sits third in the conference this season and second best on the weekend. Both Smiley’s 60m and 200m times broke the ISU North Gym facility record.
