Missouri State University welcomed Kerry Dickerson as its new senior director of athletics development in September 2016. In that capacity, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the BearsFund as well as the development of scholarship, capital and major gifts for MSU Athletics.
Dickerson has spent the last five years as assistant athletic director for development at the University of Northern Iowa where he oversaw the Panther Scholarship Fund. He also assisted UNI Athletics with its overall fundraising efforts, helping grow the University's philanthropic efforts every year during his tenure.
Originally from Blue Springs, Mo., Dickerson is a 1993 graduate of Washburn University in Topeka, Kan., where he spent eight years as associate athletic director from 2003 to 2011. He helped lead the redesign and development of the $7 million Whiting Fieldhouse renovation, which also included a new strength and conditioning center.
His ties with Washburn athletics date back to his undergraduate years where he served as the starting point guard for the Ichabods for two years and played in 116 games from 1988 to 1993. He helped lead WU to two MIAA titles and NCAA Tournament appearances. After completing his undergraduate work in health and science, he later returned to serve as assistant men's basketball coach at Washburn from 1997 to 2003.
He also holds a master's degree in business administration from Friends (Kan.) University.
Dickerson and his wife, Maggie, have two sons, Mark and Luke.
