Ben Adamson joined the Missouri State Athletics Communications staff in August 2006 and was promoted to Associate Director in 2021. He has worked with three of MSU's premier programs during his tenure, covering volleyball since 2006, women's basketball for 10 seasons from 2011-21, and baseball from 2007-11 before picking up that sport again in 2021, while providing support for each of MSU's additional 19 varsity sports during that time. Additionally, he handles maintenance of the department's athletics website, www.MissouriStateBears.com.
Adamson has worked with 13 NCAA Tournament teams, six regular-season conference champions, and five conference tournament championship teams in his time at MSU, while promoting 17 All-Americans and five Academic All-Americans.
On the national stage, his women's basketball media guide was voted second-best in the nation in 2019-20 by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA), the baseball media guide won third place in 2021-22, and the volleyball media guide was voted the nation's best cover in 2019. Adamson's baseball game notes were also voted best in the Missouri Valley Conference across all sports in 2022-23.
Prior to coming to Missouri State, Adamson worked as a sports information intern at former MVC member Creighton University during the 2005-06 school year, covering baseball, women's soccer, tennis and crew. He also worked on the ESPN Television crew at the 2006 College World Series in Omaha.
Originally from Stillwater, Okla., Adamson earned his general business degree from Oklahoma State University in 2005, where he was also a student assistant in the Media Relations Department for four years. He was the primary contact for OSU's cross country, track and field, and men's tennis teams during his tenure, and served on the host media relations crew for the 2003 NCAA Men’s Basketball and 2003 NCAA Men’s Golf Championships.
Adamson resides in Springfield with his wife, Jennifer.
