A strong, explosive athlete, Addie Foley is poised for the best season of her career swinging from the outside for the Bears in 2009.
Junior (2008)
Foley ranked third on the team with 334 kills and a 2.57 per set average while hitting .183 and contributing 1.33 digs per set ... Logged four kill-dig double-doubles and 18 double-digit kill matches ... MVC Player of the Week Oct. 6 for averaging 3.50 kills, 1.12 digs and 0.62 blocks on .304 hitting in wins at Indiana State and Illinois State ... Had seven matches of at least 10 kills and .300 hitting ... Bombed a season-high 19 kills on .368 hitting at Southern Illinois (10/10) ... Had 18 kills and hit .302 against Bradley (10/17) ... Reached the 10-kill mark in eight straight matches in October ... Hit a season-best .391 (11-2-23) versus Arkansas-Little Rock (9/13) ... Averaged 2.66 kills and 1.46 digs in Valley matches ... Had a season-high five blocks 10/14 versus SIU Edwardsville, recording 10 kills and 11 digs as well for her first career double-double ... Scooped 15 digs at Illinois State (10/31).
Sophomore (2007)
Foley saw time in 29 matches and 66 sets with five starts, totaling 96 kills, 28 digs and 15 blocks ... Set a career high with 16 kills in MSU's five-set win over UNI (9/14) ... Hit the nine-kill mark three separate times, doing so against Sacramento State (8/25), Bradley (9/15) and Indiana State (10/20) ... Also hit .438 in the Bradley match ... Had a career-best six digs against Tennessee Tech (9/8) ... Totaled multiple blocks in three matches.
Freshman (2006)
Foley came up big in the first match of her career with 10 kills on .292 hitting against Morgan State (8/25) ... Finished the season with 32 kills in 39 sets ... Had two service aces and 14 digs ... Ended her freshman campaign with four blocks, including two solos in a win at Indiana State (9/16).
Background
Foley helped lead Bishop Gorman to the Sunset Regional Championship and a second-place state finish under coach Ed Van Meefran . . . She set the Nevada state record for kills in a season with 699 and kills per set with 6.41 . . . She also led Gorman in digs with 383 . . . She was named the MVP in the Sunset Region.
