Indoor: Competed in six meets … Opened the season with first-place finish in 200-meter dash in 24.75 and second with 7.50 in the 60-meter dash at the Bob Timmons Challenge (Dec. 2) … Erased time from her 60-meter dash prelim time of 7.61 to take second with a time of 7.46, helped the 4x400 meter relay team to a second-place finish in 3:56.62 at the Missouri Invitational (Jan. 20) … Finished third in the 55-meter dash in 7.15, second in the 200-meter dash in 25.22 at the Arkansas State Invitational (Jan. 26-27) … Turned in a time of 7.52 in the 60-meter dash and posted a time of 24.46 in the 200-meter dash at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational (Feb. 3-4) … Finished fourth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.44 at the Gorilla Classic (Feb. 10-11) and helped the 4x400-meter relay team to a time of 3:51.84 … Collected a bronze medal at the MVC Indoor Championships (Feb. 25-26) in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.42 and silver medal in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.42… Also, helped the 4x400-meter relay team to a seventh-place finish with a time of 3:51.37.
Outdoor: Competed in eight meets … Finished first in the 100-meter dash at the Bulldog Relays (March 17-18) with a time of 11.72, helped the 4x100-meter relay team to a first-place finish with a time of 46.06 and the 4x400-meter relay team to a second-place finish 3:45.14 … At the Arkansas Spring Invitational (March 25), posted a time of 24.58 in the 200-meter dash and helped the 4x100-meter relay team to a time of 46.58 … Finished the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.69 at the 90
th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays (March 30-31) and helped the 4x100-meter relay team to a time of 46.80 … At the Tom Botts Invitational (April 14-15) finished first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.55, second in the 200-meter dash in 23.71 and helped the 4x100-meter relay to a second-place finish in 45.85 … Posted a time of 24.06 in the 200-meter dash and helped the 4x100-meter relay team to a time of 46.11 as well as the 4x400-meter relay team to a time of 3:49.57 at Oklahoma’s John Jacobs Invitational (April 21-22) … Finished first in the 100-meter dash in 11.71 seconds, sixth in the 200-meter dash in 24.64, and helped the 4x100-meter relay team to a second-place time of 45.89 at the Rock Chalk Classic (April 28) … Won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.38 at the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championship (May 12-14), also collected a gold medal in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.57 … a member of the bronze medalist 4x100-meter relay team, posting a time of 45.09 and helped the 4x400-meter relay team to a time of 3:48.24 … Qualified for the NCAA West Division Preliminary Round (May 25-26), where she posted a time of 11.54 in the 100-meter dash first round and 23.78 in the 200-meter dash first round.
2015-16 Track & Field
Indoor: Competed in six meets… Opened the season finishing third in the 60-meter dash (7.50), second in the 200-meter dash (24.54), and helped the 4x400-meter relay team finish second (3:49.72) at the Bob Timmons Challenge (Dec. 4)… Finished first in the 60-meter dash prelims (7.50) and finals (7.46) breaking the school record for the first time at the Arkansas Invitational (Jan. 15) while finishing fifth in the 200-meter dash (24.24)… Continued the season at the Pittsburg State Invitational (Jan. 29) finishing second in the 60-meter dash prelims (7.51) and breaking the school record for the second time in the finals (7.42) while aiding to the first-place finish by the 4x400-meter relay team (3:45.96)… Finished seventh in the 60-meter dash prelims and fourth in the finals with a time of 7.49 seconds at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational (Feb. 5-6)… Closed out the regular season at the Arkansas Qualifier (Feb. 19) where she finished third in the 200-meter dash (24.25)… Wrapped up sophomore season at the MVC championships (Feb. 27-28), finishing first in the 60-meter dash prelims (7.43), first in the finals with a school record time of 7.37 seconds, and finished first in the 200-meter dash prelims (24.40) and finals (24.30).
Outdoor: Competed in seven meets… Opened the season at the Arkansas Spring Invitational (March 26) clocking in a time of 11.65 seconds in the 100-meter dash and aided in MSU’s second-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay (45.36 seconds)… Won the 200-meter dash (24.69 seconds) and was in victorious 4x100-meter relay (46.58 seconds) at the Margaret Simmons Invitational (April 1)… Traveled to the Gibson Invitational (April 9) and finished fourth in the 100-meter dash prelims (11.90 seconds) and third in the finals (11.55 seconds) while finishing second in the 200-meter dash (24.40 seconds)… Continued season at the Tom Botts Invitational (April 16) winning the 100-meter dash (11.47 seconds) and aiding in MSU’s second-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay (45.41 seconds)… Won the 100-meter dash (11.46 seconds) and broke the 200-meter dash school record after clocking in a time of 23.12 seconds at the Missouri State Invitational (April 22)… Clocked in two winning times in the 100-meter dash (11.56 seconds) and on the 4x100-meter relay (45.25 seconds) while aiding MSU to a second-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay (3:41.27) at the Jace LaCoste Invitational (April 30)… Earned three gold medals in the 100-meter dash (11.34 seconds), 200-meter dash (23.38 seconds) and the 4x100-meter relay that raced to a season-best time of 45.19 seconds.
2014-15 Track & Field
Indoor: Competed in four meets ... Opened the season at the UAB Vulcan Invitational (Jan. 23) with an 11th place finish in the 60-meter dash prelims in 7.80 ... Placed 17th in the 200-meter dash at the UAB Green & Gold Invitational (Jan. 24) with a time of 25.94 ... At the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational (Feb. 6-7), ran a 7.77 in the 60-meter dash prelims and a 25.25 in the 200-meter dash ... At the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championships (Feb. 28-Mar. 1), placed 15th in the 60-meter dash prelims with a personal-record time of 7.74 and 17th in the 200-meter dash prelims in 25.78.
Outdoor: Competed in seven meets ... Opened the season at the Texas Relays (Mar. 25-28), finishing At 38th in the 100m dash prelims (12.04) and 21st in the 4x100m relays (46.67) ... Placed fourth in the 100m dash (11.59) and ninth in the 200m dash (24.24) at the John McDonnell Invitational (Apr. 10-11) ... Earned fifth at the John Jacobs Invitational with a 200-meter dash time of 24.44 ... At the Drake Relays (Apr. 22-25), placed 16th in the 100-meter dash with a 11.99 ... Competed in three events at the Arkansas Twilight (May 1): First in the 100-meter dash (11.67), third in the 200m dash, and first in the 4x100m relay (45.31) ... At the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships (May 15-17), placed third in the 100m dash prelims (11.51) and fourth in the finals (11.42) and placed third in both the 200m dash prelims (23.92) and finals (23.51) to earn All-MVC recognition ... Competed at the NCAA West Prelims (May 28-30) hosted by the University of Texas: Placed 12th in the prelims (11.40) and 14th in the 100m dash finals (11.37), earned 40th in the 200m Dash preliminaries (24.15), and was the first leg of the 4x100m Relay team that finished in 22nd with a 45.72 in the prelims.
Background: Attended the University of Guelph ... Took part in the university indoor championships, where she earned the 60m silver medal ... Silver medalist in the 4x200 and bronze medalist in the 4x200 championships.
Personal:Born Marissa Adama Kurtimah on May 25, 1994 ... Daughter of Alex and Sally Kurtimah ... Had four brothers, Edward, Alex, Chris, and John, and one sister, Cecilia ... Plans to major in Criminology at MSU.
