Competed in two meets… Made her collegiate debut at the Cowboy Jamboree (Oct. 3) where she was a top-5 finisher for the Bears and ran a 23:52.6 to finish 69th overall in the 6k race… Recorded a 5k time of 19:43.0 and came in 17th at the Little Rock Open (Oct. 17).
Background: Ran track and field and cross country all four years at Kirkwood High School… Named team captain her senior year for a Pioneers cross country squad that finished as district champions in 2019. Earned back-to-back second team all-conference honors during her junior and senior campaigns.
Personal: Murphy was born 07/06/01 in St. Louis, Mo…. Daughter of Mike and Jeannie Murphy… Has two brothers, Michael and Kevin, and three sisters, Mary, Annie, and Meg… Undecided on major.
