2009-10: Broodryk swam a new personal-best in the 200-yard breaststroke at the Mid-American Conference Championship in Ypsilanti, Mich. His time of 2:07.51 was the third-best time in the event for the Bears all season...Also cracked the season top five in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.25) and the 400-yard individual medley (4:08.23), both at the MAC championship...
2008-09: Was a top swimmer for the bears in the breastroke events, earning a top five spot in both the 100-yard and 200-yard event...set personal bests in 100-yard (57.61) and 200-yard (2:08.56) breastroke in the Sun Belt Championship.
Background: Waldo Broodryk comes to Missouri State after spending four years with the Wichita Swim Club where he participated in four consecutive regional championship meets. In 2005, he recorded a third-place finish in the 100 breast at the Missouri Valley All-Star meet. In 2006, he was a member of the 400 medley relay squad that qualified for the junior national meet as well as earning six various top-eight finishes at the Missouri Valley Zone Championships. In his final prep year, Broodryk recorded a top-16 finish at the 2007 Pro-Am and participated in the 2008 Grand Prix meet.
