2011-12 Swimming and Diving Roster
Biography
At Missouri State: Henry has improved each year and will carry that trend into the 2011-12 season. His depth in the distance freestyle and backstroke events provides the Bears with multiple options.
2010-11: Henry established himself as a scoring threat at the MAC Championships during his sophomore campaign. He dropped more than four seconds from the prelims session and finished 10th overall (4:33.92) in the 500 free. Out of the 16 swimmers in the finals, Henry shaved off the most time from his prelims mark. He finished 11th in the 100 back while setting a new career best in prelims (51.19). Perhaps one of his biggest feats was clocking in at 1:50.34 in the 200 back prelims to secure a spot in A-Final. Henry finished eighth and was one of three Bears in the 200 back championship finals heat.
2009-10: As a freshman, Henry swam in the distance and backstroke groups. At the MAC Championships, Henry placed 10th in the 100 back (51.55), good enough for fourth on the season's top-five list.
Background: Henry joined the Bears after swimming for Lincoln Southeast High School. He was a Nebraska State Championship finalist in all four years of his prep career, including an individual championship in the 100 back in 2008. He also earned All-American accolades as a senior.
Personal: Aaron Ray Henry is the son of Randy and Nancy Henry. He was born on October 17, 1990 in Lincoln, Neb. He has one sister, Ashley. He is majoring in hospitality & restaurant administration.
