Roark made a successful transition to the outfield as a junior, lead the team with a .373 batting average, the fourth-highest average in the MVC, and earned All-MVC first team honors ... started 35 games and played in 39 total ... went 3-for-4 with a double and run scored in win in a win at Western Kentucky (Feb. 19), the beginning of a four-game hit streak in which she picked up eight hits ... stole first base of the year and scored in a 2-for-4 game at WKU (Feb. 20) ... dropped a successful sacrifice bunt and scored a run in back-to-back games versus UMKC (Mar. 4) and SEMO (Mar. 5) ... began a five-game hitting streak with a single in the game against SEMO (Mar. 5) ... picked up a hit in three-straight appearances from Mar. 12 through Apr. 3 ... went 3-for-5 with an RBI in the series opener against Southern Illinois and then contributed three more hits in the series (Apr. 9-10) ... kicked off a six-game hitting streak with three hits in the doubleheader versus Wichita State (Apr. 20) ... added five hits, including a double, and scored three times in the series at Northern Iowa (Apr. 23-24) ... had a 2-for-3 game with a run scored, a stolen base and a sac bunt in series opener at Evansville ... ended the season on a six-game hitting streak ... picked up a pair of hits and scored a run in win versus Indiana State that clinched a spot in the MVC Tournament (May 7) ... went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in the MVC Tournament quarterfinals against SIU (May 13).

Roark played in 51 games and started 32 at second base ... hit .222 with 17 runs scored, four stolen bases and three RBI ... was the eighth toughest to strikeout among Valley hitters ... went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Feb. 7) ... collected two hits, drove in a run and scored another at Louisiana Tech (Feb. 8) ... stole a base in back-to-back games at Indiana State to close out the series (March 28-29) ... recorded a hit in each game of doubleheader against SEMO (March 31) ... went 2-for-3 with an RBI and stolen base in game two versus Evansville (April 4) ... drove in a run in series finale with Evansville (April 5) ... extended hitting streak to four games with singles and a run scored in each end of twin bill versus Loyola (April 11) ... drew a walk and scored three runs in game one at Illinois State (April 18) ... had a hit in back-to-back games at home against Wichita State (April 22) and Missouri (April 23) ... crossed the plate twice in the series opener versus UNI (April 25) ... hit safely in the final two games of the regular season at SIU (May 2-3) ... went 1-for-1 with a run scored and a successful sacrifice in MVC Tournament semifinals win over Illinois State (May 8).

Roark appeared in 21 games and was pencilled into the starting lineup on April 13 versus Indiana State ... scored a run as a pinch runner at Loyola (April 7) ... successfully executed a sacrifice bunt against Indiana State (April 13) ... stole a base at UNI (April 19) on her only attempt of the year ... scored runs in back-to-back games at UNI (April 19) and versus Wichita State (April 22) ... crossed the plate twice in the series at Evansville (May 3-4).
Background
Roark was a three-year letterwinner for head coach Frank Huston at Ottumwa High ... named a first-team all-conference pick all four seasons while hitting better than .400 each season for the Bulldogs ... earned all-state first-team accolades as a senior and a junior and led her team to fourth- and sixth-place finishes at state, respectively ... picked up all-district team honors all four years ... led OHS to back-to-back conference titles her sophomore and freshman seasons ... batted .447 and earned all-state second team as a sophomore ... hit a team-leading .401 while picking up all-state third team accolades en route to a fourth-place finish at state her freshman campaign ... also played basketball, volleyball and ran cross country at Ottumwa High.

Olivia Jean Roark is the daughter of Missy Carson-Roark and Ray Roark ... born June 17, 1995, in Ottumwa, Iowa ... has one brother, Joseph ... her mother, Missy Carson-Roark, played softball at Creighton and was college roommates with current MSU coach Holly Hesse ... is majoring in sport and park administration at Missouri State.
