Biography

At Missouri State: Lauren Supak is back for her second and final year in a Missouri State uniform after a solid debut campaign that saw the Colorado Springs, Colo., native lead the club in earned run average and innings pitched.

2009: Supak started 18 contests and made a team-high 27 appearances in all in her first season as a Bear ... posted a team-best 2.23 ERA, which ranked 10th in the Missouri Valley Conference, to go along with a 5-8 record ... compiled 122.1 innings pitched and 61 strikeouts, both of which led Bears ... posted a 1.95 earned run average in 11 appearances at Killian Softball Stadium, allowing the opposition to hit just .246 in 57.1 innings pitched at home ... earned her first win as a Bear against Butler (2/21) at the North Texas Sleep Inn Classic, turning in a complete-game, six-hitter in which she gave up just one unearned run while fanning a career-high seven batters in a 7-1 MSU victory ... recorded 18.2 consecutive scoreless innings from April 11-22 ... picked up her second victory with a five-hit blanking of Wichita (3/26), the first of two straight shutouts of the Shockers by the right-hander; also held WSU scoreless in Springfield on April 15, pitching the Bears to a 4-0 win ... notched her second straight shutout on April 18, limiting Evansville to just four hits in a complete-game 1-0 victory ... earned the win in a 2-1 MSU decision over Arkansas (4/22) by hurling a career-high 8.0 innings in which she allowed only a single unearned run in her sixth complete game of the season.

Background: Supak came to Missouri State after pitching two years for Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kan. ... earned NJCAA second-team All-America honors in 2008, posting a school-record 26 victories against just three defeats to go along with a 1.96 ERA ... led the Grizzlies to the 2008 NJCAA World Series and a 10th-place finish in the national poll with a 49-8 mark ... holds the Butler career win record with 47 ... awarded first-team honors in the Jayhawk Conference for her pitching, as well as first-team All-Region VI honors both years at Butler ... was a four-year starter as a pitcher, outfielder and shortstop Doherty High School in Colorado Springs, Colo., where she was named to the Denver Post[apos]s 5A All-State Team her senior year ... tabbed Colorado Springs all-metro first-team three times and helped her club team capture a seventh-place national finish in 2006 ... also competed in basketball at Doherty.
