Kaitlin Beason

After a successful playing career that culminated in an NFCA All-Region first-team recognition in 2018, Kaitlin Beason joined the MSU staff in the fall of 2018 as a graduate assistant coach.

By any measure -- in the classroom, in the circle, at the plate, or in the field -- Beason left her mark on the MSU program during her career.

She was a two-time honoree on the MVC Scholar-Athlete first team, earned the MVC Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award three times, and made the MVC Honor Roll on three occasions. Beason was also recognized as an NFCA Scholar-Athlete in 2016 and 2017.

In the circle, she earned 21 wins and struck out 105 batters in 47 starts. Her best campaign was in 2017 when she was 12-11 with a 2.37 ERA -- ranking sixth in the MVC -- with 11 complete games.

Beason’s swing was also lethal, finishing third in program history with 21 career home runs with 87 RBI, 19 doubles and 70 walks. In 2018, she hit .333 with 7 home runs and 24 RBI with team-best 23 walks. Her walk-off solo homer to defeat Indiana State on Senior Day at Killian Stadium was one of her most memorable moments.

In the field, Beason played an errorless senior season at first base, establishing a new program record with no mishaps in 293 defensive chances which helped her earn NFCA All-Region first-team, All-MVC second-team, MVC Defensive Team and MVC All-Tournament Team honors. She finished her career with 370 putouts, 113 assists and a .986 fielding average.

The Webb City, Mo., native earned her degree in Psychology in December of 2017.
