At MSU: Kellington Boddie brings 29 career starts into the 2008 season and will vie for playing time in the midfield. 2007: Boddie saw action in eight games as a junior, coming off the bench in all eight. He took two shots on the season with one on goal, both coming against San Diego State (9/21). 2006: Boddie missed six of the final seven matches of the season and saw limited minutes in the MVC Tournament in his return due to a knee injury. Boddie started the season[apos]s first 12 matches, and the Bears gave up only eight goals in those contests as the sophomore played a key role in the MSU defense. MSU was 6-4-2 in the contests Boddie started. 2005: Boddie showed his impressive athletic ability early as a freshman, as he played a key role in helping MSU start the season on a 10-game unbeaten streak and record a school-record five match shutout streak in September. The 5-8 defender started in 17 of 18 games in his rookie campaign and picked up his only assist of the season in the Bears[apos] 4-2 victory over Western Kentucky (10/8). For his play, Boddie was named to the MVC All-Freshmen team along with teammate Justin Alford.

Background: Boddie helped lead Peoria Notre Dame High School to an Illinois state championship as a senior. Boddie turned in six goals and 10 assists in his final prep campaign to be named to the Illinois all-state team, as well as earning conference player of the year honors. As a junior, Boddie was an all-sectional, all-metro and all-conference pick, while leading the Irish to a third-place finish in the state tournament. He played club soccer for the Chicago Magic under coach Mike Matkovich.

Personal: Kellington Wayne Boddie is the son of Ken and Eulinice Boddie. He was born Oct. 2, 1986.
