Jake Buckle

Former Missouri State soccer player Jake Buckle joined the men’s soccer program as a volunteer assistant coach in January 2022. Initially, he returned to his alma mater as a graduate assistant coach for the Missouri State women’s soccer program in August of 2019.

Buckle enters his second year with the staff after being involved in all aspects of the program including taking the lead with goalies, Missouri State soccer camps, and assisting with recruiting. He helped the Bears' efforts during their 12-2-4 season as the team won both the Missouri Valley Conference regular season and tournament titles along with making its fourth-straight NCAA tournament.

Buckle, a native of York, England, played four years for the Bears from 2015-2018. He earned Missouri Valley Conference Honorable Mention and All-Tournament Team honors in 2018. In 2016, he earned a spot again on the MVC All-Tournament Team. His first year he was named to the MVC All-Freshman squad.

He earned his undergraduate degree in Criminology in December of 2018 and is currently completing his master’s degree in Sports Management.

He holds a FA Level 2 coaching license and is currently completing the UEFA B coaching license. He previously coached for Sporting Springfield and a NPSL team.

Born in York, England, Buckle played for the Youth Academy at Leeds United, Manchester City and Tadcaster Albion in England. He is the son of John and Karen Buckle.
