Townsend will be returning to Missouri State men's soccer as a graduate assistant coach pursuing his masters degree.
Townsend is a Mo State soccer alum himself, having competed for the Bears from 2020-2024, earning multiple accolades throughout his collegiate career as a goalkeeper.
In 2023, he made the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region First Team and the All-MVC Second Team as well as a place on the MVC Honor Roll for 2023-24. In 2022, he earned the MVC All-Tournament MVP accolade. He also earned four MVC Defensive Player of the Week honors (9/6/22, 10/25/22, 8/29/23, 9/26/23.)
After graduating, in 2025 Townsend played at the Napier City Rovers in New Zealand for a year as well as coaching youth soccer. He then returned to the United Kingdom where he has been for the last 6 months before making his way back to Springfield.
Townsend began his youth career at Plymouth Argyle in the UK, where he played for nine years until the age of 18.
