Kyle Johnson joined the Bears in June 2021 after spending the previous three years at Coastal Carolina University where he served as assistant director of speed, strength and conditioning, working primarily with men's and women's basketball in addition to men's golf. He also assisted with workouts for the CCU football squad during his time in Conway, S.C.

Prior to his time at Coastal, Johnson spent time at the University of Evansville in 2018 as assistant strength and conditioning coach. Originally from Edgerton, Wis., he also has served strength and conditioning internships at Wisconsin, North Carolina and Virginia.

Johnson earned his undergraduate degree from Winona State in 2015 where he was a four-year baseball standout, earning academic all-conference honors in 2013 and 2014. He later earned his master's in Sports Management from Winona State in 2018 while serving as a graduate assistant there.
