Jared Brugmann joined the Missouri State staff in July of 2022 to work as the primary strength and conditioning coach for the sport of men's basketball.
Prior to coming to Springfield, Brugmann served a year-and-a-half at Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C., including the last year as head strength and conditioning coach for the Blue Hose programs. In that capacity, he worked with all 19 Division I sports, including the development of individual strength, speed and conditioning programs for all of the university's student-athletes. He worked specifically with Presbyterian's men's and women's basketball programs when he arrived there in November 2020.
The native of Gretna, Neb., earned his graduate degree from Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D., where he was a strength and conditioning graduate assistant from August 2019 until November 2020. He worked primarily with the cross country, swimming and track and field programs, and also assisted with the basketball programs at Northern State. He earned his Master’s in Human Performance in May 2021.
Brugmann interned at South Dakota State, Creighton and Nebraska-Omaha after starting his collegiate career at Nebraska. He played football for the Cornhuskers for two years and was a three-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. In both 2016 and 2017, he was selected to the Brook Berringer and Tom Osborne Citizenship Teams. He completed his undergraduate work at Nebraska-Omaha in 2019 with a degree in Exercise Science. He is CSCS, and First Aid/CPR/AED certified.
