Max Franey joined the Missouri State football staff in the summer of 2024, returning to his college roots to coordinate the team's logistics, travel and scheduling needs.

Originally from St. Louis, Franey spent the previous year at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, N.C., where he served as both director of football operations and director of equipment operations for an FCS playoff qualifier.

Prior to his time at GWU, he spent two years as the director of beach volleyball operations at Missouri State where he oversaw all day-to-day internal matters for the Bears while he was pursuing his master's.

Franey's professional experience also has taken him to the University of Tulsa where he was a football operations intern in the summer of 2022.

Franey completed his undergraduate degree in Administrative Management from Missouri State in 2022 and later earned his Leadership Graduate Certificate from MSU's prestigious College of Business in 2023.

Franey was a standout center at Vianney High School in St. Louis where he led the Golden Griffins to a Class 5 championship his senior year after anchoring an offensive line that produced 6,435 total yards and 76 touchdowns. He earned all-state laurels and was a Post-Dispatch All-Metro selection.
