Biography

At MSU: Cameron Hawthorne is one of a wealth of young offensive linemen looking to earn increased playing time in 2007 after the departure of four starters on the line after last season. He served in a backup capacity a year ago after redshirting in 2005.

Background: Hawthorne earned all-region and all-conference honors in his senior season, and all-conference, all-state honorable mention and second-team all-state in 2003. He lettered three years in football and four years in track and field, where he was a standout in the shot put and discus. He participated in an NCAA Leadership Conference in June, 2006.

Personal: Cameron J. Hawthorne was born 2/6/87 in Mt. Vernon, Ill., the son of Jon Ricci and Charlotte Ann Hawthorne. His major is hospitality and restaurant administration.
