Erin O'Connor was a consistent contributor as a junior, starting 32 of the Bears' 33 matches, but will be looked to in a more terminating role as a senior this season . . . As a junior (2005): O'Connor had splashes of greatness as a junior, being named to the MVC All-Tournament Team and was the only Bear to be named to the Aquafina Invitational All-Tournament team for her play at Florida . . . She contributed 25 kills, 21 digs and nine total blocks in the Bears' two matches in the conference tournament . . . She increased her numbers of digs by 111 over her sophomore year, for a total of 311 on the season . . . She had 364 total kills with a hitting percentage of .180 . . . O'Connor She had a season-high 21 kills against 15th-ranked UC-Santa Barabara . . . She had 14 kills and 21 digs against Arkansas (9/9) . . . O'Connor helped lead Iowa City West High to 82 wins in her three seasons as a member of the varsity program . . . She was a two-time all-conference, all-area, all-division selection . . . She was also an honorable mention all-state pick as a junior and a fourth team all-state pick as a senior . . . O'Connor was a two-time team Most Valuable Player and as a senior she led Iowa City West to a third place finish in the school's first state tournament appearance in eight years . . .
