Eslinger Named CUSA Defensive Player of the Week

DALLAS – Missouri State senior libero Brooke Eslinger earned Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week honors in volleyball Monday after her standout performance in the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational.
Eslinger averaged 5.3 digs per set with a .978 service reception percentage during the Bears' 3-0 home weekend to earn all-tournament honors at the event.
The Cleveland, Tenn., native collected 11 digs and went 15-for-15 on serve receive Thursday against Little Rock, scooped 20 digs in Friday's sweep of Northwestern State, and had 22 digs while going 16-for-16 on serve receive Saturday versus Indiana State.
Eslinger is Missouri State's first ever CUSA Defensive Player of the Week.
Mo State (4-2) hits the road Sept. 10-12 at the Hawkeye Invitational. The Bears face Incarnate Word at 3 p.m. Thursday, Southern Illinois at 3 p.m. Friday and host Iowa at 1 p.m. Sunday.
