Men's Golf Places Third at UT Martin

JACKSON, Tenn. -- The Missouri State men's golf team finished third Tuesday (Sept. 15) at its second tournament of the season, the Grover Page Classic at Jackson Country Club. The Bears posted 284-291-299--874 for the tournament with three newcomers and a sophomore fueling their best finish since the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate in March 2025.
Junior Caden Cox paced Mo State by finishing 15th after carding 69-72-76--217. The transfer from Wichita State opened his tournament with three birdies and an eagle in his first four holes in the opening round on his way to a three-under 69. Sophomore Pedro Gallegos and freshman Leon Herb tied for 20th with 219 totals; Gallegos shot 71-76-72 while Herb had 75-73-71. Freshman Francesco Petrangeli was two back in a tie for 26th at 221 on rounds of 71-70-80, and junior Jonathan Jordan placed 52nd with 73-79-80--232.
Host UT Martin captured the team title with 858 and Samford finished second in the 10-team field at 869.Â
The Bears are off next week before the Derek Dolenc Invitational in St. Louis, Sept. 28-29.
