Morrow and Lewis Earn CUSA Weekly Honors

DALLAS - Missouri State women's soccer collected a pair of Conference USA weekly honors Tuesday, as Logan Morrow was named Defensive Player of the Week and Kate Lewis was selected as Goalkeeper of the Week, the league announced.
The awards are the first career CUSA weekly honors for both Morrow and Lewis.
Morrow helped anchor a defensive unit that did not concede a goal across two matches last week. The sophomore logged 136 minutes as Missouri State battled Southeast Missouri State to a scoreless draw on Thursday before earning a 3-0 victory over Central Arkansas on Sunday. The Bears limited their two opponents to six combined shots on goal and just two corner kicks across 180 minutes.
Lewis played every minute in goal during the unbeaten week, recording six saves and a pair of shutouts. She stopped all three shots she faced against SEMO before making three more saves in Sunday's victory over Central Arkansas.
The two clean sheets extended Lewis' shutout streak to three consecutive matches and her scoreless stretch to 284:37. After allowing 10 goals through its first two matches of the season, Missouri State has not conceded in its last three contests, posting a 2-0-1 record during that span.
The Bears enter the week 2-2-1 overall and begin a three-match road swing Thursday at Iowa State. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. in Ames, Iowa.
