Meet the Bears: Skilled Leaper Rolle Joins Mo State Squad
June 23, 2026 | Men's Basketball
SPRINGFIELD -- Missouri State men's basketball head coach Cuonzo Martin announced today the addition of Leano Rolle to the Bears lineup for the upcoming 2026-27 season.Â
The 6-foot-7 forward is widely regarded as a top-level leaper and is originally from the Bahamas. He is coming off a breakout year at Southwest Mississippi Community College and is tenth player addition announced by Martin for next season's squad.
"Leano is a gifted athlete and arguably has the best leaping ability of any player I've ever coached," said Martin. "What impresses me most isn't how high he can jump, but how naturally he moves and impacts the game. He's a special talent with a bright future, and I've enjoyed watching his growth."
Rolle's sophomore season at Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit, Miss., saw him average 14.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 blocks per game for the Bears of coach Corey Schmidt. He also converted 50.3 percent of his field goal attempts and buried 36 threes for a 17-15 squad. He scored in double figures in 20 of 29 appearances, including eight efforts of 20+ points and three double-doubles. He notched a season-high 27 points on 10-of-14 field goals in a home win over LA Knights (11/5/25) and is rated as the No. 60 national juco prospect by JucoRecruiting.com.Â
He played his freshman season at Arizona Western College where he earned time in 16 games with five starts. He averaged 6.4 points, and 3.3 rebounds per game for a 23-8 Matadors team under coach Kyle Isaacs. He scored in double figures seven times, including a season-high 21 points (on 9-of-11 shooting) in a home win over Imperial Valley (11/5/24).
Rolle graduated from The Legacy School of Sport Sciences in Spring, Texas (2023-24). Prior to that, he averaged 8.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game as a junior at North Florida Educational Institute in Jacksonville for a 22-9 Eagles team. He ranked among Florida's top 100 prospects in the PrepHoops.com rankings in 2024.Â
He is also the cousin of Philadelphia 76ers star rookie VJ Edgecombe.
