Meet the Bears: Transfer Ruey Brings Size to MSU Front Court
June 15, 2026 | Men's Basketball
SPRINGFIELD -- Missouri State men's basketball head coach Cuonzo Martin announced today the addition of transfer forward Ngundeng Ruey (when-DANG ROO-ee) to the Bears lineup for the upcoming 2026-27 season.Â
The Canadian standout is the fifth in a series of upcoming player announcements for Martin's squad.
"Ngundeng is a 6-foot-10 athlete with good length, natural instincts, and feel for the game," said Martin. "His ability to anticipate plays, cover ground, and impact winning on both ends of the floor makes him a special talent with tremendous potential."
Ruey is coming off a breakout sophomore year at Mineral Area (Mo.) College where he averaged 6.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game for coach Tony Irons in 2025-26, while earning 24 starts. He led the Cardinals to a 21-12 overall record and shot 50 percent from the field in his only season in Park Hills.
He spent his freshman season at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tenn. He averaged 1.4 points and 0.7 rebounds in 16 appearances (102 total minutes) in 2024-25 at the NCAA Division II school.Â
He began his basketball journey as a local phenom at St. Patrick's High School in Ottawa, Ontario.
