Meet the Bears: Mo State Snags Juco All-America Stubblefield
June 12, 2026 | Men's Basketball
SPRINGFIELD -- Missouri State men's basketball head coach Cuonzo Martin announced today the addition of transfer guard Kevin Stubblefield to the Bears lineup for the upcoming 2026-27 season.Â
The talented 6-foot-5 standout comes to Springfield after two seasons at Connors State College in Oklahoma where he earned NJCAA All-America distinction in 2025-26. He is the fourth in a series of upcoming player announcements for Martin's squad.
"Kevin plays with pace, poise, and confidence," said Martin. "He's shifty around the rim, finishes through contact, and has a knack for keeping defenders off balance. His feel for the game, ability to change speeds, and natural instincts make him a valuable asset."
Stubblefield averaged 15.9 points per game over two seasons at Connors State to go with 4.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists. During his sophomore campaign, he averaged a team-best 19.1 points per game with 96 rebounds, 84 assists and 29 threes in 22 appearances. He eclipsed 20 points on 10 occasions and tallied 30 points three times while earning All-America honorable mention distinction and leading coach Bill Muse's Cowboys to a 16-9 season.
As a freshman in 2024-25, he was the top scorer on the NJCAA Division I national runner-up team at Connors State, averaging 13.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists while burying 52 threes for a 32-4 squad that took a 14-game winning streak into the 2025 national championship game. Â
He prepped at Westside High in Omaha, Neb., where he averaged 16.6 points per game as a senior for coach Jim Simons in 2023-24.
