The Lady Bear NecessitiesÂ
- Missouri State women's basketball closes out the regular season on Saturday afternoon (2:00 p.m., ESPN+) with a trip to Middle Tennessee. The Lady Bears currently sit in a tie for second place with FIU in the regular season standings and are vying for a No. 2 seed in next week's CUSA Tournament.Â
- MoState trails in the all-time series against MTSU 1-3, but the Lady Bears got their first-ever win against the Blue Raiders earlier this season. In a 60-54 win in Springfield, Kaemyn Bekemeier led the way with 25 points and 8 rebounds.Â
- Kaemyn Bekemeier leads MoState this season with 17.5 ppg, 8.2 rpg and 56 three-pointers. On Feb. 21, she became the 32nd Lady Bear in program history to reach the 1,000 point mark. The 5-9 guard is 1 of just 11 players in NCAA DI with at least 520 points and 240 rebounds, and is one of just two players under 6'0" to do so. There are only four players standing 5'9" or shorter averaging more rebounds per game than Bekemeier. More information on Bekemeier on pg. 5.
- The second member of MoState's dynamic duo Lainie Douglas (So., Overland Park, Kan.) was named CUSA Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 20.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game in wins against Sam Houston and FIU. Over the last four games, Douglas is averaging 22.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game while shooting .708 (34-48) from the field and .759 (22-29) from the free throw line. The sophomore currently ranks 1st in CUSA and 22nd nationally with a .570 FG%.Â
- As a team, Missouri State ranks inside the top 15 nationally in: free throw made/game (8th - 16.6) and free throw attempts/game (14th - 22.0). The Lady Bears lead CUSA and rank 52nd nationally in FT% at 75.6 percent. Bekemeier ranks inside the top 20 nationally in FTM (11th - 158) and FTA (19th - 187), and also leads CUSA and ranks 61st nationally with an .845 FT%.
- In the Cunningham era, Missouri State is 55-7 when scoring 70+ points, 65-5 when holding opponents to 65 points or less and 50-1 when opponents score less than 60 points. Missouri State is 0-5 this season when allowing 70 or more points.
- Second-Half Adjustments - MoState is +18 on the scoreboard in the first half this season, but flips the switch at the break to own a +142 point differential against its opponents in the second half of games. Against CUSA opponents, the Lady Bears are +39 in the first half and +100 in the second half. MoState has scored 185 more points in the second half of games than the first half this season.Â
- Battle on the Boards - MoState is 18-3 this season when out-rebounding opponents, but is just 1-8 when losing the battle on the boards. In their last two outings, MoState is outrebounding its opponents 110-63.Â
