First-Round Results
RIO VERDE, Ariz. -- Junior
Kyleigh Pfitzner shot a three-over-par 75 in Friday's (Feb. 20) first round of the Rio Verde Collegiate to lead the way for the Missouri State women's golf team. The Bears got off to a rough start as a team, managing only a 308 on the Quail Run course at Rio Verde Country Club, which put them in a tie for 11th in the 20-team field.
Xavier and Wichita State are tied for the team lead after shooting 292 each, with host Western Michigan (296), Ball State (298) and Kennesaw State (299) rounding out the top five.
Junior
Coyee Zhang carded 77 for the Bears, while junior
Tierney Baumstark and freshman
Chloe Bolte each posted 78, and senior
Kiser Pannier shot 80.
Saturday's second round is scheduled for a 10 a.m. Mountain time start.
