FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Missouri State women's tennis fell to Arkansas in both matches with a 4-0 scoreline on Wednesday at the Billingsley Tennis Center.
The Razorbacks overpowered the Bears across doubles and singles play in both matches of the doubleheader.
Match One
The Razorbacks raced to a 1-0 lead, taking the doubles point with wins at Nos. 2 and 1 doubles.
In singles the Razorbacks secured straightforward victories on courts three, four, and five to win match one.
On court number two, captain and senior Billur Gonlusen had won the first set, 6-3, against Razorback Brooke Schafer before the match was stopped in the second set as Arkansas had already won.
Match Two
The second match started much like the first, with the Razorbacks winning the doubles at the second and third positions.
In singles the Razorbacks once again raced to victory on courts one, four, and six to also win match two.
Captain and sophomore Lucy Latham was up a set against Arkansas' Brooke Schafer with a score of 6-4, before the match was stopped in the second set due to the Razorbacks already claiming victory.
