The Lady Bear Necessities 
  • Missouri State women's basketball hits the road to take on travel partner Southern Illinois on Thursday night (6:00 p.m.). The Lady Bears lead the all-time series 64-30 against SIU, including a 24-19 record on the road in Carbondale. MoState has won the last six matchups and 10 out of the last 11 in the series.
  • In nine true road games, Kyrah Daniels (So., Highlands Ranch, Colo.) leads the way for the Lady Bears with 16.1 points per game. Lacy Stokes and Sarah Linthacum also average in double figures on the road, while both shoot over 50% from the field and the latter leads the team with 6.6 rebounds per game away from home. 
  • Lainie Douglas (Fr., Overland Park, Kan.) was named MVC Freshman of the Week for the third consecutive week. In wins against Indiana State and Evansville, Douglas averaged 18.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game while shooting .682 (15-22) from the field. In her first-career start against the Sycamores, she posted a career-high 20 points and tied her career-best with nine rebounds. 
  • Linthacum (Sr., Jefferson City, Mo.) and Douglas are developing into a strong one-two punch for the Lady Bears in the post. The duo ranks first and second on the team in FG% with Douglas at .556 and Linthacum at .545. Linthacum's field goal percentage ranks 37th nationally (5 FGM/game), while Douglas owns a team-leading 20 blocks. 
  • Stokes (Sr., Mount Vernon, Mo.) continues to do it all for Missouri State from the point guard position. Stokes leads the team in scoring (12.2 ppg), assists (93), steals (55) and minutes (33.3 mpg). She ranks 3rd in the MVC in steals per game (2.4) and 4th in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.0). 
  • Fifth-year senior Paige Rocca (Sr., Iowa City, Iowa) has played in 99 career victories at MSU. She is one victory away from becoming just the 6th Lady Bear in program history with at least 100 winning games played on her resume. 
  • Spectacular Sophomores - Sophomores Kaemyn Bekemeier (10.9 ppg) and Kyrah Daniels (11.2 ppg) are two of four Lady Bears averaging double-figure points this season, and they rank first and third on the team in rebounding with 137and 123 boards, respectively. Bekemeier leads the team in FT% (.793) and is 3rd in 3FG% (.361), while Daniels leads the team in 3FGM (42) and 2nd in BLK (17).
  • A couple of keys to success for Missouri State this season have been:
    •  Getting off to a quick start: 17-1 when leading at the half and are 1-4 when trailing at the break.
    •  Bench production: 13-1 this season when leading in bench scoring. 
  • In the Cunningham era, Missouri State is 40-4 when scoring 70+ points, 45-1 when holding opponents to 65 points or less and 34-0 when opponents score less than 60 points. 
The Series 
Missouri State leads the all-time series 64-30 against Southern Illinois, including a 24-19 record on the road in Carbondale. MoState has won the last six matchups and 10 out of the last 11. 
    In last season's meeting in Carbondale, the Lady Bears found a way to grind out a win in the fourth quarter. After leading by two heading into the final period, Missouri State held the Salukis to 20% shooting from the field and just seven points in the fourth quarter to secure a 10-point, 62-52, victory. Lacy Stokes tied for the team lead with 14 points to go with five assists, while Kyrah Daniels added 10 points.
    Earlier this season in Springfield, the Lady Bears allowed their lowest point total so far this season as they held SIU to 37 points and just .208 (11-53) shooting from the field. In a dominant performance, Sarah Linthacum and Kyrah Daniels led the way with 14 points, while Kaemyn Bekemeier turned in a 12-point and career-high 13-rebound performance.
