The Lady Bear NecessitiesÂ
- Missouri State women's basketball will play its seventh game away from home this season as the Lady Bears travel to take on Tulane on Thursday night (6:30 p.m.) at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in New Orleans, La.Â
- The Lady Bears own a 2-1 series advantage over Tulane. Thursday night's matchup will mark the first time the two teams have met in New Orleans as the previous three meetings were all held in Springfield. The squads last met in Springfield on Dec. 1, 2023 with MoState earning a 70-60 win. Â
- MoState is coming off a 1-1 showing at the GEICO Coconut Hoops tournament in Fort Myers, Fla. The Lady Bears fell to Florida State before bouncing back to defeat Coppin State. In that tournament, the Lady Bears were led by Lainie Douglas (17.5 ppg, .722 FG%) and Cady Pauley (16.0 ppg, 6-for-11 3FG).Â
- Kaemyn Bekemeier (Jr., Republic, Mo.) leads the way for the Lady Bears this season, averaging 15.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. The guard ranks 6th in scoring and 8th in rebounding in Conference USA, which includes 7.3 defensive rebounds per game to rank 2nd in CUSA. Â
- Stingy Defense - The Lady Bears have held their opponents to just 37-of-147 (.252) from beyond the arc this season, which ranks 53rd nationally. MoState is holding its opponents to just 63.1 points/game this season as five of its first eight opponents have failed to meet the 60-point threshold. Missouri State is 5-0 this season when holding opponents under 60, and 1-2 when allowing more than 60 points.Â
- As a team, Missouri State ranks inside the top 15 nationally in: free throw attempts per game (15th - 24.8) and free throws made per game (16th - 17.5).Â
- In the Cunningham era, Missouri State is 49-6 when scoring 70+ points, 54-1 when holding opponents to 65 points or less and 42-0 when opponents score less than 60 points.
- The first NET rankings of the season were posted earlier this week. MoState is currently 133 in the NET rankings, which ranks third amongst CUSA teams (Sam Houston - 79, Liberty - 119).Â
- The 2025-26 Lady Bear squad features seven returners and seven newcomers in a new-look lineup that replaces all five of its starters from a year ago. MoState lost 69.2 percent of its scoring and 60.9 percent of its rebounding from last season.Â
- The Lady Bears were picked to finish fourth in their first season as a member of Conference USA in the league's preseason poll. MoState slotted in behind Louisiana Tech, Liberty and Middle Tennessee. Little Rock transfer Lee was selected to the CUSA Preseason All-Conference Team. Lee was an All-OVC first-team member a season ago after averaging 14.2 points per game for the Trojans, and she averaged 19.7 points in three career games against Missouri State.Â
