Gardner Selected to CUSA All-Freshman Team

DALLAS – Missouri State's Hannah Gardner earned a spot on the Conference USA All-Freshman Team in volleyball after a vote of the league's coaches, it was announced Wednesday.
 
Gardner has played in every match for MoState this season and stuffs the stat sheet with averages of 1.82 kills, 4.62 assists, 2.23 digs and 0.45 blocks per set along with 21 service aces.
 
The Springfield native recorded the first triple-dobule by a freshman in school history on Sept. 5 against UTSA with 13 kills, 22 assists and 10 digs, and added a second on Oct. 18 versus New Mexico State to help earn CUSA Freshman of the Week honors.
 
Gardner is one of five Division I players nationally with at least 170 kills, 430 assists and 210 digs.
 
The Bears are the No. 8 seed at this week's CUSA Volleyball Championship in Miami and open play Friday at 11 a.m. Central versus top-seeded UTEP.
