The Lady Bear NecessitiesÂ
- Missouri State women's basketball continues its road trip through Indiana with a Sunday afternoon (1 p.m. CT) matchup at Indiana State. MoState leads the all-time series against the Sycamores 69-18, including a 29-12 record on the road in Terre Haute. The Lady Bears have won the last 20 meetings.
- In six road games this season, the Lady Bears own a plus-11.3 scoring and plus-9.5 rebounding margin, while shooting .462 from the field and .375 from beyond the arc. Kyrah Daniels (So., Highlands Ranch, Colo.) is MoState's leading scorer on the road at 16.5 points/game.
- As a team, the Lady Bears rank inside the top 50 nationally in four categories:16th in free throw attempts per game (21.6), 27th in rebound margin (+8.3), 31st in three-point percentage (.358), and 46th in free throws made per game (13.9). MoState also leads the Missouri Valley Conference and ranks 56th nationally in offensive rebounds per game (13.7).Â
- Sarah Linthacum (Sr., Jefferson City, Mo.) has been extremely efficient for the Lady Bears in the post. She leads Missouri State with a .557 (83-149) field goal percentage, which ranks fourth in the MVC. The 6-3 forward also ranks 36th nationally in FG%. Over the last two games, Linthacum has gone 16-for-18 (.889) from the field.Â
- Lacy Stokes (Sr., Mount Vernon, Mo.) continues to do it all for Missouri State from the point guard position. Stokes leads the team in scoring (13.0 ppg), assists (66), steals (35), free throw percentage (.798) and minutes (33.3 mpg).Â
- Kaemyn Bekemeier (So., Republic, Mo.) has been a huge spark off the bench for the Lady Bears. She is one of four Lady Bears averaging at least 10.0 ppg and she leads the team in rebounds (90). The sophomore guard has recorded 11 double-figure scoring performances and leads the Lady Bears with two double-doubles on the year. In Friday's game at Evansville, she grabbed a game-high 7 rebounds.
- A couple of keys to success for Missouri State this season have been:
- Getting off to a quick start: 12-1 when leading at the half and are 0-3 when trailing at the break.
- Bench production: 9-0 this season when leading in bench scoring. MSU ranks 81st nationally in bench points per game (23.5).
- In the Cunningham era, Missouri State is 34-4 when scoring 70+ points, 40-1 when holding opponents to 65 points or less and 31-0 when opponents score less than 60 points.Â
- Missouri State was picked to finish fifth in the MVC preseason poll for the second consecutive year. MSU finished third in the regular season last year with a 15-5 league record. Stokes earned a spot on the preseason All-MVC first team after earning second-team honors a year ago.

Missouri State leads the all-time series 69-18 against Indiana State, including a 29-12 record on the road in Terre Haute. The Lady Bears have won the last 20 meetings in the series - MoState's last loss to the Sycamores was on 2/21/14 in Springfield by a score of 73-37.
    In last season's first meeting, the Lady Bears came away with an 89-71 win on Kari Koch's jersey retirement day. After leading by just two points at halftime and surrendering the lead in the third quarter, Missouri State went on a 33-7 run that began at the midway point of the third to take and extend its lead to 22 points, ultimately securing the victory. Five Lady Bears scored in double figures as MoState shot 61% (34-56) from the field as a team.Â
    Last year in Terre Haute, the Lady Bears rallied in the fourth quarter to secure an eight-point win. After trailing by one heading into the fourth, Missouri State held the Sycamores to 2-for-10 from the field and outscored Indiana State 16-7 to escape with the victory. Lacy Stokes posted 13 points, four assists and three steals in the game.Â
