Cross Country Bears Set for Springfield Meet

Cross Checking the Bears

The Missouri State cross country team will compete in its home city on Friday, Sept. 13 at 6:45 p.m. The Queen City Twilight will be the first regular season collegiate cross country meet hosted in Springfield since 2012. Missouri State hosted the MVC Championship in2017 and the NCAA Regional in 2012.
Competing schools include Evangel, Drury, Southwest Baptist, College of the Ozarks and Westminster.
The men's teams from Evangel, Drury, SBU, College of the Ozarks and Westminster will race in an 8k at 6:00 p.m. The women's 5k will feature all the participating schools and will begin at 6:45 p.m.
The Bears are coming off a season-opening win at the Redhawks Invitational in Cape Girardeau, Mo. MoState recorded 39 points in the victory with runners finishing fourth, sixth, seventh, ninth and 13^th. Senior Mary Margaret Harris led the Bears across the line with a time of 18:50.84.
Allison Sports Town sits on 82 acres and features four indoor basketball and eight volleyball courts, two indoor soccer fields and 12 outdoor fields. Concessions will be available during the meet, which is the first-ever cross country meet at the facility.
