Cross Country Bears Named All-Academic Team

NEW ORLEANS – The Missouri State women's cross country team has been named an All-Academic Team by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Bears had a combined GPA of 3.59 on a 4.0 scale for the semester. To be eligible, all teams considered by the USTFCCCA must have at least a 3.0 GPA. This is the Bear's ninth straight year being honored with this distinction.

"Once again, we are just as proud of the effort in the classroom as the effort on the course," head coach Jordan Fife said.

In total, 248 women's Division I teams were honored, including eight other Missouri Valley Conference teams.

North Carolina State was named the USTFCCCA Women's Scholar Team of the Year for the third year in a row.
