Bushnell, Finley Earn All-MVC Honors

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Missouri State's Maddy Bushnell is a repeat selection to the all-Missouri Valley Conference Second Team, and Rilynn Finley earned a spot on the league's All-Freshman Team, the conference announced Saturday morning ahead of the opening round of the MVC Volleyball Championship.

Bushnell owns a team-best .274 hitting percentage with averages of 2.30 kills and 0.64 blocks per set for the full season and increases those numbers to 2.35 kills and 0.83 blocks with a .296 efficiency in conference matches. The Willard, Mo., native has 12 matches with at least 10 kills this season with a high of 17 on Nov. 16 against Drake. She hit .300 or better in 16 matches and ranks 12^th in MoState history with a .284 career attack efficiency.

Finley leads all Valley freshmen with 347 total kills, good for fourth all-time among Missouri State rookies behind Lily Johnson, Amelia Flynn and Vanessa Wouters. The outside hitter from Republic, Mo., is the first MSU freshman on record (since 1987) with at least 10 kills in each of their first three career matches and reached 100 kills in her ninth match of the season, third fewest in school history among freshmen. Finley was the MVC Freshman of the Week on Nov. 4 and has tallied 18 or more kills in six matches this year.

The Bears begin tournament play today with a 3 p.m. match against fifth-seeded Bradley in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
