ST. LOUIS -- Missouri State guard Vincent Brady II (Jr., Indianapolis, Ind.) was named Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Brady led the Bears to their first wins of the season with 21 points against Missouri Southern and followed that with 15 against previously-unbeaten Tulsa. For the week, the transfer from IU Indianapolis led or shared the team lead in scoring (18.0), rebounding (7.0), steals (3.0) and free throws (10) while shooting 52 percent from the field in a 2-0 week.

Brady has started all three games this season and is averaging 12.0 points per game for the Bears.

Also honored by the conference on Monday were Murray State's KyeRon Lindsay (Player of the Week) and Belmont's Sam Orme (Freshman of the Week).

The Bears (2-1) are back in action Tuesday evening (7 p.m.) when they wrap a three-game home stand against UT Arlington at Great Southern Bank Arena.
