LONG BEACH, Calif. - Missouri State men's soccer senior forward Jesus Barea was ranked in the national top 100 midseason player rankings posted by TopDrawerSoccer. Barea is ranked No. 28 on the list.

Barea (Cádiz, Spain) makes his first career appearance on the list and is the second-highest-ranked player from the Missouri Valley Conference. Bowling Green's Trace Terry comes in at No. 16. Barea leads the conference in points (26), goals (12), shots per game (4.58) and shots on goal per game (3.00). His three shots on goal per game lead all Division I players. Across the nation, Barea is second in goals per game (1.00), third in points per game (2.17) and fourth in shots per game.

This marks the sixth consecutive season that a Bear has cracked the midseason top 100. Senior defender Michael Peck was No. 19 on the midseason list last season. Former Bears Kyle Hiebert was the highest-ranked Bear in the midseason rankings at No. 13 in 2020.

No. 15 Missouri State (9-2-1, 4-0-1 MVC) clashes with Bowling Green (9-2-2, 3-1-1 MVC) in a battle for the lead in the conference on Sunday at Betty & Bobby Allison Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. and admission is free for all attendees.
