Bears Soccer Up to No. 15 in United Soccer Coaches Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Missouri State men's soccer (8-2-1, 4-0-1 Missouri Valley Conference) moved up two spots to No. 15 in this week's United Soccer Coaches National Top 25 Poll released Tuesday afternoon.
The ranking marks the highest the Bears have been placed this season and the highest since Missouri State was at No. 10 on Oct. 17, 2023. MoState was also ranked No. 15 entering last season's NCAA Tournament. The Bears were ranked as high as No. 9 last year in three consecutive weeks. The highest Missouri State has ever been ranked by United Soccer Coaches is No. 3 on Sept. 11, 2000.
This past week, Missouri State defeated Belmont, 2-1, on the road Saturday night in large part thanks to two goals in less than a minute by senior forward James Jennings. The Bears are on a three-match winning streak and are 7-0-1 in their last eight matches.
Missouri State maintains its spot at No. 3 in the United Soccer Coaches West Region Poll behind Denver (7-2-4) and San Diego (8-1-2). The Bears are ahead of MVC-rival Western Michigan (8-0-5) on the west region poll, while the Broncos moved up one spot to No. 13 in the national poll.
West Virginia (8-0-3) reclaimed its sport as the No. 1-ranked team in the nation. Stanford (8-1-3), Marshall (8-1-2), Pittsburgh (10-3-0) and Ohio State (9-1-2) round out the top five.
Missouri State remains on the road for a nonconference match against Memphis (6-4-2) at The Billy J. Murphy Soccer/Track & Field Complex. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. CT. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
