SPRINGFIELD -- Missouri State men's basketball coach Dana Ford announced Tuesday (Aug. 1) the addition of Matt McGouran to his staff as the squad's new director of basketball operations.

McGouran comes to Springfield after spending the last year at Texas State University in San Marcos. 

He joined Texas State in September 2022 and assisted with all travel and expense reports for all of the athletic department teams. 

Prior to Texas State, McGouran was a graduate assistant coach for the men's basketball team at Texas A&M-Kingsville (2020-21), a box office representative for Spurs Sports & Entertainment (2019-2020), and a member of the internal operations team, working directly with the men's basketball program, at the University of Houston (2018-19).

McGouran graduated from Houston in December 2018 with a bachelor's degree in Sport Administration and a master's in Business Administration from Texas A&M-Kingsville in 2022

McGouran replaces Darreon Reddick who recently departed the Missouri State program for a full-time coaching opportunity at SIU Edwardsville.

His hire is contingent upon final approval by the Missouri State University Board of Governors at its next scheduled meeting.
