Men’s Swimming and Diving Lands Six on MAC All-Academic Team

April 03, 2023

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Six Missouri State men's swimmers were named to the Mid-American Conference All-Academic Team, the league announced this afternoon.

Nicholas Schuster highlighted the Bears with a 3.97 GPA as a nursing major, while Pawel Krawczyk carries a 3.89 GPA with a dual major of applied mathematics and computer science. Rounding out the MoState selections were Bruno Guerra, Brunno Suzuki, AJ Huskey and Dylan Moffatt. MSU had representation from each class, as three juniors, two sophomores and one senior made the cut.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.

The Bears are fresh off a second-place finish at the MAC Championship, taking home gold medals in four events during the four-day meet. Every MSU event winner at the championships features someone on the all-academic team: Krawczyk won the 200- and 500-yard freestyle, Moffatt defended his 1650-yard freestyle title and AJ Huskey earned his first career MAC gold medal in the 400-yard individual medley.
