GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Missouri State swimming and diving team landed four men and four women on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced today.

On the women's side,
Kelly Sego,
Cabrini Johnson,
Jordan Wenner and
Samantha Roemer all were named to the all-district team.

Sego led the way for the MSU women with a perfect 4.00 GPA. In the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, the Batavia, Ill., native earned the silver medal in the 200-yard individual medley finals (2:01.06) and was a part of two relay-winning squads in the 200-yard medley relay (1:38.73) and the 400-yard medley relay (3:39.17), resulting in her being presented with the Elite 17 Award. Coincidentally, the winning 400 medley relay team consisted of the four MSU women's swimmers selected to the CSC all-district team.

Roemer was close behind Sego and currently carries a 3.93 GPA. The Bettendorf, Iowa, native won the 100-yard butterfly finals (53.31) and was a part of the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:20.66), the 400-yard medley relay (3:39.17), the 800-yard free relay (7:17.61) and 200-yard medley relay (1:38.78) winning teams at the MVC Championship.

Wenner currently holds a 3.83 GPA and earned the gold medal in the 100-yard freestyle at the conference meet. Additionally, during the MVC championship, the senior from Ashburn, Va., was on the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:20.66), the 400-yard medley relay (3:39.17) and 200-yard freestyle relay (1:31.64) teams.

Johnson carries a 3.75 GPA and was a part of the 400-yard medley relay (3:39.17) team that took home the gold medal at the championship meet. The senior from Rogersville, Mo., also secured third in the 100-yard breaststroke finals (1:02.03).

Additionally, all the selected swimmers were named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team. These four student-athletes combined to contribute to seven out of the nine gold medals the Bears earned at the MVC Championship two weeks ago.

Nicholas Schuster,
Pawel Krawczyk, Brunno Suzuki and AJ Huskey made up the selections for the men's team.

Only 0.03 separated Schuster from a perfect GPA, as he highlighted the men's squad with a 3.97. The Muskego, Wis., native holds the season-best times for the Bears in the 100-yard breaststroke (54.92), the 200-yard medley relay (1.29.12) and the 400-yard medley relay (3:15.71).

Krawczyk narrowly missed the 3.9 club, currently holding a GPA of 3.89. The senior from Warsaw, Poland, currently hold season-best times for MSU in the 200-yard freestyle (1:36.59), the 500-yard freestyle (4:22.60), the 100-yard butterfly (49.22), the 200-yard butterfly (1:46.72), the 800-yard freestyle relay (6:37.83) and the 400-yard medley relay (3:15.71).

Suzuki carries a 3.57 GPA. The Sao Paulo, Brazil, native holds MSU season-fastest times in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:01.54) and the 800-yard freestyle relay (6:37.83).

Rounding out MoState's selections is AJ Huskey. From Columbia, Mo., Huskey is narrowly behind Suzuki with a current GPA of 3.55. Huskey owns season-fastest times for the Bears in the 200-yard individual medley (1:48.61) and the 400-yard individual medley (3:55.25).

The men's club has a chance to rack up medals beginning tomorrow. On Wednesday, the MSU men are slated to compete in the four-day Mid-American Conference Championships in Oxford, Ohio, with events starting tomorrow at 5 p.m.

The women's club is fresh off its seventh-straight MVC crown, accumulating for 1326 points en route to the program's 19
th title in the past 21 years.
