The Lady Bear NecessitiesÂ
- Missouri State women's basketball heads back on the road for a Sunday afternoon (2 p.m.) matchup at Oklahoma State. The Lady Bears will look to snap a seven-game losing streak against the Cowgirls and to collect their first win in Stillwater since the two teams' first meeting on Jan. 11, 1978.Â
- The Lady Bears have at least one victory over a Power Five school in 10 consecutive seasons, with 18 such wins over that span. Sunday's matchup against OSU marks MSU's first opportunity this season to extend its streak to 11 straight seasons.Â
- MSU currently ranks 5th nationally and 1st in the MVC in three-point percentage defense, holding opponents to 4-for-23 (.174) from behind the arc this season.Â
- In MSU's victory over SEMO on Wednesday night, transfer Angel Scott (Jr., Edmond, Okla.) dropped a career-high 24 points (7-10 FG, 6-9 3FG) and collected a career-high eight rebounds. She ranks 87th nationally and 7th in the Missouri Valley Conference in three-point percentage (.444) so far this season.Â
- Indya Green (Jr., Springfield, Mo.) also set a new career high with 17 points against SEMO, in addition to collecting three steals. Her seven seven steals lead the Lady Bears.
- In her last outing, Kennedy Taylor (Jr., Shawnee Mission, Kan.) recorded a 14-point, 12-rebound double-double, marking the 12th double-double of her career and first of the season. She also blocked a career-high four shots against SEMO, bringing her season total to six which ranks her 38th nationally and 1st in the MVC in blocks/game (2.0).Â
- Continuing its tradition of dominance on the glass, MSU ranks 39th in the country and 2nd in the MVC in rebound margin at +11.0. MSU returns 61% of its rebounding from a year ago, including its top three rebounders in Taylor, Green and Jade Masogayo (So., Fort Worth, Texas). Those three Lady Bears have pulled down 64 of MSU's 123 rebounds this year.Â
- Missouri State's junior class (Green, Scott, Stokes, Taylor) has accounted for 63% of MSU's scoring this season, recording 121 of the Lady Bears' 193 total points.
- Missouri State was picked to finish 5th in this year's MVC Preseason Poll, with Masogayo and Taylor earning preseason All-MVC second team nods.
- MSU returns six players this season, while welcoming in a group of eight newcomers consisting of three transfers and five freshmen. Missouri State's five-member freshman class is its largest since the 2018-19 season.
The Series
Oklahoma State leads the all-time series against Missouri State, 11-3. MSU is 1-7 all-time on the road in Stillwater and has lost the last seven matchups versus OSU. The Lady Bears will be looking for their first win against OSU since 11/29/2000 and their first win on the road against the Cowgirls since the series began on 1/11/78.Â
In last year's meeting in Springfield, the Cowgirls led the majority of the game as the Lady Bears were held to .361 shooting from the field and committed 21 turnovers in a 73-54 loss to OSU. Former Lady Bear
Aniya Thomas led the way with 18 points, while
Indya Green posted a 12-point, 13-rebound double-double and
Jade Masogayo set a career-high with five blocks.
The last time the two squads faced off in Stillwater on 11/17/21, MSU got off to a quick start to lead by 12 at the half. However, the Cowgirls mounted a second-half comeback, tying the game with 7:26 remaining and ultimately securing a 44-40 win over MSU.Â

A Lady Bear Win Would...
• Snap MSU's seven-game losing streak to OSU - the Lady Bears' last win vs. OSU came on Nov. 29, 2000
• Would mark MSU's first win in Stillwater since the first meeting of the series on 1/11/78 and just the second road victory all-time against the Cowgirls.Â
• Extend Missouri State's streak of consecutive seasons with a victory over a Power Five school to 11.Â
