Cross Country Bears Set Out for MVC Championship
October 26, 2023 | Women's Cross Country
The Missouri State cross country team looks to continue its upward trajectory when it competes at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship at Belmont on Friday.
The Bears will race against the other 11 MVC schools in a 6-kilometer format for the championship title. The much-improved Bears will look to build on their recent success when they take to the Vaughn's Creek Cross Country Course Course in Nashville on Friday morning.
Last season, the Bears finished eighth out of 12 teams.Â
This will be MSU's second 6k of the year. Last time out, MoState secured a second place finish out of 19 teams in the Evansville Angel Mounds Invitational. The Bears finished with 74 points and an average time of 22:19.5. The Bears also had the best spread of any of the teams competing with only 42.1 between the first and last scorers.
The race will kick off at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Live timing will be available, and the meet will be streamed on ESPN+.
