Golfers Cap Fall Season with 10th-place Showing at The Clerico

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. -- Missouri State's men's golf team wrapped its fall schedule here Tuesday in the final round of The Clerico. The Bears finish 10th in the highly-competitive field with a final showing of 285-304-293--882.

Little Rock (275-285-292--852) took the team title by one stroke over Michigan (853) with UTEP (858), UTSA (859) and host Oral Roberts (864) rounding out the top five.

The Bears were once again led by Hampus Wijkstrom (67-74-72--213) who tied for seventh place with Eric Schuessler (72-71-74--217) finishing just outside the top 20 in 21st position.

Wijkstrom was 11 strokes behind co-leaders Hunter Bott (UTSA) and Ben Loren (Oklahoma) who both came in 8-under (202) on the par-70 course at Cedar Ridge Country Club. Oklahoma State's Preston Stout (203) was one stroke off the lead to finish third.

Wijkstrom finished the five-event fall slate with an impressive 69.67 stroke average for MoState.

After a short winter break, the Bears resume action Feb. 12-14 in Houston at the Bentwater Intercollegiate.
