Day Earns Valley Soccer Honors for the Fourth Time

October 18, 2023

ST. LOUIS – Camielle Day has been named Missouri Valley Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for the fourth time this season, the league announced Wednesday.

Day remains the conference leader in shutouts with nine solo shutouts this season. Last week, she recorded another set of back-to-back clean sheets against Indiana State and Northern Iowa. Day has not allowed a goal since Sept. 21 when the Bears beat Illinois State 4-1.

In addition to leading the conference in shutouts, Day is tied for fifth in the country in shutouts and her goals-against average lands her 12th nationally (.474). Day is one shutout behind the national leaders.

Day is one more solo shutout away from tying the program record for shutouts in a season.

The Bears will close out their home slate of regular season games against Southern Illinois on Thursday, Oct. 19 at 7:00 p.m. at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium. Admission is free and the game will be shown on ESPN+.
