Cross Country Bears to Face First MVC Opponents

The Missouri State cross country team will be heading to the Evansville Angel Mounds Invitational, hosted by Evansville, Friday at 9:00 a.m.
This will be the third time for the Bears to run the Angel Mounds Cross Country Course under head coach Jordan Fife's leadership. The last time the Bears ran at this course was for the 2020-21 Missouri Valley Conference Championship where the Bears placed sixth out of eight teams competing.
The invitational will be the first 6k the Bears face this year and the first time the Bears will face MVC opponents.
Two weeks ago, the Bears finished ninth out of 35 teams at the Arkansas Chile Pepper Festival. Mia McLain was the first finisher for the Bears with a time of 17:56.8. The 5k race brought about eight new season bests for the Bears and new personal records for Emily Nuttall, Natalie Clayton, Grace Spoonhour, Madilyn Moore, Mihane Nambara and Adrien Martens.
