
Men's Golf Finishes Sixth at Shocker Invitational

Final Results
NEWTON, Kan. -- The Missouri State men's golf team finished sixth Tuesday (Oct. 10) at the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational at Sand Creek Station Golf Course. The Bears shot under par as a team for the third consecutive tournament, posting 285-282-284--851, 13 under par.
As they have been all season, the Bears were led by senior Hampus Wijkstrom, who tied for 13th, one stroke ahead of teammate Eric Schuessler. Wijkstrom carded 72-70-69--211, while Schuessler tied for 15th with 70-69-73--212. Senior Max Kreikemeier tied for 27th after shooting 72-72-71--215, while sophomore Christian Rischer was just behind in a tie for 32nd at 75-71-71--217. Freshman Max Bowman tallied 71-72-76--219 to tie for 40th.
Host Wichita State captured the team title with 841, three better than Seton Hall and Oklahoma State. Rice was fourth at 847, UT Rio Grand Valley fifth with 848, then the Bears, UT Arlington, Hutchinson C.C., Abilene Christian and SIU Edwardsville to round out the top 10 in the 16-team field.
MSU is idle next week before closing out the fall campaign at The Clerico in Tulsa, Oct. 23-24.
