Carnahan Joins MSU Strength and Conditioning Staff

SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State Athletics has hired Grant Carnahan as the newest addition to the strength and conditioning staff, the department announced today.
 
Carnahan comes to MSU after spending the last year as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Harding University, where he served as the head S&C coach for baseball and men's and women's basketball. He also served as the assistant S&C coach for the Harding football program.
 
In addition to his time at Harding, Carnahan has also previously served as a PEAK Performance Director at SportsPlus Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy in Marshalltown, Iowa. His responsibilities included directing and implementing individual and team strength and conditioning programs and training athletes of all ages. He also served as a volunteer assistant in the sports performance department at Purdue University, where he worked with multiple sports and assisted with the daily set up and management of football and Olympic training weight rooms.
 
In college, Carnahan was a member of the Iowa Western Community College and Grand View University football teams.
 
Carnahan earned his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Grand View in 2020, before obtaining his master's degree in Strength and Conditioning from Harding in May 2022.
 
His hire is contingent upon final approval by the Missouri State University Board of Governors at its next meeting.
