TULSA – On the road for the final time during the regular season, the Missouri State tennis team fell to Oral Roberts (4-0) to kick off its busy week here Wednesday afternoon.  

"We competed really well today and gave ourselves opportunities to win on several courts." said head coach Randall Knox. "But it's hard to cross the finish line when you are down one player in the lineup." 

In doubles Flight No. 2, the pair of Mara Presot and Sandra Lukacova were leading Oral Robert's Luna Morini and Arina Sorokina (4-1), but the match went unfinished due to a loss in the first flight and a forfeit in the third. 

Similarly to previous matches MSU started singles play in a 2-0 deficit after being down a doubles pair and a player in the No. 6 spot. The Bears still battled, though, as Presot dropped a hard-fought (6-1, 7-5) match to Reagan Miley in the third position. In Flight No. 5, Lukacova pushed Zere Iskakava to the brink as well, dropping the first set before jumping out to a 4-1 lead in the second. Ultimately, the freshman's match went unfinished due to Oral Robert's clinch with wins in the sixth, first and third positions. 

MSU will conclude its regular season with a pair of conference matches against Northern Iowa and Drake on Friday and Saturday. Friday's match against the Panthers will kick off at 1 p.m., while Saturday's Senior Day contest will be played at 11 a.m. against the Bulldogs. Both matches will take place indoors at the Cooper Tennis Complex. 

"We're looking forward to our upcoming conference matches and Senior Day on Saturday," finished Knox.
