Miller Wraps Up Celebrated Career at NCAA Swimming Championships

March 19, 2022

ATLANTA – Missouri State's Anna Miller (Sr., St. Louis, Mo.) finished up her celebrated career by swimming the 100 freestyle at the NCAA Division I Championships Saturday morning here at the McAuley Aquatic Center.

"The end of my career is bittersweet," Miller reflected. "I am so grateful to have had such a successful career at Missouri State, but I am excited to start the next chapter of my life. I am proud of how I competed this year and I know that I gave it my all. Ending on a high note at NCAA Championships is all I could have ever wanted for my swimming career. I would not have wanted to represent any other school. I am grateful for my teammates and coaches who have supported me throughout the entire journey, and I am excited to see what the Bears continue to do in the future."

Miller is the first Missouri State participant to compete in the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. She holds school records in the 50 freestyle (22.08), 100 freestyle (48.45), and 100 butterfly (52.96).

The Saint Louis native completed the 100 freestyle with an unofficial time of 48.68 and did not place.

"We are just so proud of Anna for all she has done for the Missouri state program," head coach Dave Collins said. "She goes down as one of the greatest swimmers in our history as well as the Missouri Valley Conference. More than swimming, I am proud of the person Anna has become while at MSU and the commitment she has made to overall excellence."

Miller finishes her storied collegiate career that has featured 27 Missouri Valley Conference gold medals and 11 individual MVC titles.

"Watching Anna race this week has been bittersweet," associate head coach Chelsea Dirks-Ham said. "It's inspiring to be on deck at NCAA's and for it to be the last meet of her career is very special. Anna is irreplaceable and has been such a special contributor to our program in numerous ways both in and out of the pool. She has fully trusted the process each step of the way and I am grateful for the opportunity to have coached her."

The NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships conclude the 2021-22 slate for the Missouri State swimming and diving program.
